Is this content official?

No – Although we are lucky enough to have Jonathan Stroud’s respect for our efforts, this website, its content and its tours are completely fan-made. The one exception is the selection of exclusive videos on the Treat page. These were made by Jonathan earlier in his writing process and passed to us in 2025. They are shared with Jonathan’s fans on our website as a thank you from Jonathan for the support given to him over the years.

You do guided tours?! Do the tours cost money?

The GG map and associated tours are made by fans, for fans, and as such we do not charge you for downloading them, or for our time if you join us on an in-person guided tour. We are constantly working to improve the tours. Please bear this in mind when you review them.

We like to meet members of LockNation from all over the world. If you are planning to spend some time in Lockwood’s London and would like to join a tour, please contact us. We will do everything to try and be available whilst you are in London. Please note, we provide two tour guides, one of whom is always female.

Who writes the tours?

In this world of changing technology and AI, you will be pleased to hear that George’s Gazetteer and its team members are “proudly human”. We research factual information from many sources – including plenty of hard copies of books! The original images used on our website are either photographs taken by our team, or specially commissioned artwork from our artists.

There are approximately 200 locations mentioned on this website and the GG team endeavours to visit all of them at least once, helping to document London’s unique history.

We strongly believe all art belongs to its creator, therefore we commission unique works direct from the artist, and we use only ethical image processing methods on our own photographs.
