6 St Chad’s Place

‘Fast Pizza’, George’s Italian restaurant of choice, is where he and Lucy go after Lockwood treats them to dinner (with what looks like a £5 note) in episode 2. At the time of filming, it was a food and events venue called Jamboree, very close to King’s Cross railway station. However, the venue has now closed. There is little to see of the restaurant, but Lucy and George’s benches are folded up and locked to the wall!

In the wider shot, you can just see the underground line in the bottom right corner. This particular railway line is one of the oldest parts of the underground network in London.

In addition, the passageway you walk through to reach the restaurant is believed to have the Fleet river running underneath it.

The quickest way to St Chad’s Place is via Gray’s Inn Road, but at the other end of the street there is an interesting and spooky narrow passageway which leads out via an unobtrusive exit on to King’s Cross Road.
